SAFE PRIDE DAY

Before, during, and after the Pride Parade, we can be targeted if we are perceived by others as LGBTIQ+ or supportive of the cause.

Self-defense and taking preventive action do not mean accepting responsibility for violence. The person who commits the violence is always responsible for it.

Let’s support each other!

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND OTHERS:

  • Attend/Leave events with a friend or in a group.
  • Stay in contact with the person(s) you came to the event.
  • Secure personal belongings.
  • Save the emergency number 112 in your phone.
  • If you do not feel safe or are alone, remove the rainbow items from sight.
  • Stick to the parade route and stay in the event venues.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. Check where the nearest safe point is.
  • Avoid disputes and confrontations. Do not respond to provocation.
  • If you witness an incident, document it from a safe distance and call the police on 113 if you feel threatened or if you detect violence. 113.
  • If you have experienced assault or another homophobic or transphobic incident, contact the police, security personnel, safe persons, or call 113.
