The main event of the annual Pride Parade in Ljubljana is the Pride March – a protest march through the streets of Ljubljana, this year under the slogan “Looking Back, Marching Forward”. The gathering will begin at 17:00 at AKC Metelkova mesto, from where the protestors will head to Kongresni trg at 18:00. The procession is a protest expression of demands for the human rights of LGBTIQ+ people, and an occasion for raising the visibility and celebration of the LGBTIQ+ community, marking the 40th anniversary of the movement. The procession will be followed by a political and cultural programme at Kongresni trg at 19:00, including speeches by guests and performances by artists such as the musical queer duo Freekind and the performance collective The Feminalz, also responsible for the Image Snatchers tehnoburlesque.
