Let’s DecontRaminate Ljubljana!
The event will be held in English.
Are you bothered by hateful graffiti on the streets of Ljubljana? Do you sit on the toilet of your favourite bar and scratch transphobic slurs off the bathroom tiles? Do you ever feel that the public spaces around you are hostile?
Well, we have a great solution! Join our DecontRamination of Hate Speech workshop and you will get the chance to explore ways how we can reclaim our public spaces, parks, pavements, bathroom walls and so much more.
The workshop will start at 2pm at TR Studio, where we will briefly get to know the concept of DekontRamination and the mobile application we will use. Then, in small groups, we will go to different locations around the city, where we will research graffiti in public spaces and decontaminate them. The workshop will bring together activists from all over Europe and will be an excellent opportunity to learn about new strategies for decontraminating hateful and discriminatory inscriptions.
It is recommended that you download the mobile app, which is available in Slovenian, English and German, before participating.
Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and sunscreen!
Accessibility
Location and entrance:
- The entrance to the venue is accessible from the inside parking lot of the building number 3 on Vilharjeva street. From Vilharjeva street, enter through the ramp, then turn right and go through, under a gate. Go to the end of the parking lot, and on the left, in the corner, you will see big white doors.

Architectural accessibility
- The venue is accessible from the ground floor with no steps or curbs.
- The bathroom is on the ground floor. There are no accessibility amenities in the bathroom.
Language and communication
- Language of the event: English.
- Organisers will be able to communicate in Slovene and English.
- There will be no sign language interpreters present.

Sensory conditions
- The workshop is divided into three parts: the initial presentation of the topic and the task, then a 1-1,5 hour long walk in groups, and finally a discussion back at the place of the event. We encourage being prepared for the weather conditions. It is possible to just join for the stationary parts.
