The documentary \u201cCooking Up Democracy\u201d (Germany, 2026, 87 min) by acclaimed director Monika Treut takes us into the heart of Taiwanese society, where democracy is not taken for granted but practiced every day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At a time when many democracies are struggling with ongoing crises, Taiwan stands out as a place of resilience and innovation. Together with former Digital Minister Audrey Tang, the film explores a vibrant activist scene shaped by queer and feminist perspectives and new forms of civic participation. <\/strong><\/p>\n

From traditional teahouses to digital platforms, the film reveals how freedom can spark creativity and connect people \u2014 across generations, communities, and ideas. \u201cCooking Up Democracy\u201d is both a portrait of a society and an inspiring reflection on what it means to live democracy today.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The screening will be followed by a discussion with director Monika Treut and the Director of the queer film festival \u00c9crans Mixtes from Lyon.<\/strong><\/p>\n
