SUMMARY:Proof of love/Des preuves d'amour
DESCRIPTION:Zagovornik načela enakosti invites you to a screening of Proofs of Love (Des preuves d’amour\, France\, 2025\, 97 min)\, directed by Alice Douard. \nThe film explores questions of love\, family and the social recognition of relationships\, followed by a discussion after the screening. \nThe event is situated within a broader reflection on medically assisted reproduction (MAR) for same-sex couples in Slovenia. Before the screening\, Zagovornik načela enakosti will also organise a roundtable discussion on access to MAR and the rights of LGBTIQ+ people in the process of building a family. \nThe film follows Céline\, who is expecting her first child\, although she is not the one carrying the baby. In three months\, her wife Nadia will give birth to their daughter. In her feature debut\, writer and director Alice Douard explores the experiences of queer people in the aftermath of the legalisation of same-sex marriage in France through an intimate and personal story. \nSet in 2014\, the film follows newly married Parisian couple Céline and Nadia Steyer as they navigate the complicated process of in vitro fertilisation\, which at the time was still not legally accessible to lesbian couples in France\, alongside the bureaucratic procedures of second-parent adoption. Through a deeply personal narrative\, the film opens questions of parenthood\, social recognition\, legislation and the everyday experiences of LGBTIQ+ people. \n🎬 Film trailer:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Accessibility\n Coming Soon

Throughout the documentary “Molalatladi wa Bonke” we will follow South African human rights activists and archivist\, Bonke Sonjani (he/they) from their home in South Africa to attend Ljubljana Pride week 2025. Through Bonke’s journey\, filmmaker Theto Maleka shows us a sensory\, mosaic-style documentary connecting global voices across 21 countries\, following the cultural bridge between South Africa and Slovenia during Ljubljana Pride 2025 to prove that joy is the ultimate blueprint for transnational policy. The documentary will be accompanied by an artist talk with Theto and Bonke\, as well as an exhibition from Slovene photographer and cultural worker\, Katja Goljat\, who was key in initiating the partnership between Ljubljana Pride and South African LGBTIQ+ activists. \nDescription of Documentary: \nMolalatladi wa Bonke je vezenina svetovne solidarnosti LGBTQI+\, kjer se veselje spremeni v politiko. Through her latest partnership with Bonke Sonjani and Ljubljana Pride\, she aims to inspire a new generation of creators to use their talents as a tool for international connection and social change. \nExhibition: \n Jozi 🖤Impressions from a trip to South Africa\, 2025 Do you know the feeling of carrying a country within you for a long time? And then one day\, you finally step into it. Things begin to unfold – about yourself\, about others\, and about life in general. Recently\, I heard that travel is a cultivation of the spirit. Maybe it truly is. For me\, it’s the people who have stayed closest to my heart. Let me share a part of my South African story – portraits and spaces from a spontaneous solo journey through Johannesburg and Cape Town\, and a little beyond. \nKatja Goljat (1982) is a self-employed cultural worker\, a photographer based in Ljubljana\, working in the field of contemporary auteur and documentary photography. her and reveal a glimpse of her own intimate world\, or take her toworlds beyond\, where there are stories of people whose lifestyles are the result of socialtransformations and tend to break away from the grip of cultural forms She treats the camera as a magical machine that translates her insights and feelings into images.prevaja v podobe. \n \n \n \n \n \n Accessibility\n Location and entrance:\n\nThe entrance is located on the side of the building number 3 on Vilharjeva street. The venue has a limited capacity\, and the entrance staff count how many people can be inside.\n\nQuiet space\n\nThere will be no quiet space inside the venue.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n

SUMMARY:Kings & Queens & Criminal Queers
DESCRIPTION:The event will be held in Slovenian.Accessibility for people with mobility impairments: Yes \nMarijo Zupanov explores queer life in Ljubljana through photography\, focusing on identity\, self-expression and often-overlooked community moments. His work documents processes taking place behind the scenes and highlights people and events that mainstream society may dismiss as trivial\, showing them as vital parts of our shared world. While his 2023 project Pleasures (Užitki) centred on gay erotica\, his latest work expands to include diverse queer identities. \nDespite doubts about how photography connects to queer bodies\, Zupanov’s portraits celebrate their visibility\, courage and beauty. \nExhibition Kings & Queens & Criminal Queers His exhibition Kings & Queens & Criminal Queers adds new Polaroids to his archive – visual traces of lived experiences\, discrimination and resistance. The title draws inspiration from the melancholic song “Beautiful Boys”\, echoing themes of rejection\, survival and self-discovery. \n

SUMMARY:RAINBOW NATION
DESCRIPTION:The event will be held in English with Slovene subtitles. \nJoin us for the premiere screening of the powerful documentary Rainbow Nation directed by Ilse Schooneknaep in Marieke Dermul. The film exposes the painful reality of South Africa—a country where LGBTQIA+ rights may be enshrined in law\, but violence\, hatred and discrimination remain a part of daily life.. \nThrough deeply moving personal testimonies\, Rainbow Nation reveals the stark contrast between a progressive constitution and a brutal reality: over 500 lesbian women are raped every year solely because of their sexual orientation. Many transgender individuals face constant threats of violence. And yet\, at the very heart of danger—in the Soweto township—the activist event Soweto Pride takes place each year\, where the queer community stands firm: We exist. We are here. \, We will not disappear. \nThe screening will be followedby a discussion with guests from South Africa\, who will share their first-hand experiences. The conversation will be moderated by Simona Muršec. \nEntry: 3€

SUMMARY:Queer Cinema for Palestine: No Pride in Genocide
DESCRIPTION:The event will be held in Slovenian and English.Accessibility for people with mobility impairments: Yes \nWe invite you to join us for a screening of eight short films curated by Queer Cinema for Palestine\, which will be followed by a discussion with artist\, video artist\, performer and painter Ana Čigon on art’s position in resistance and the liberation struggle. \nQueer Cinema for Palestine (QCP) is a collectively curated global film festival celebrating queer realities and standing in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom\, justice and dignity. \nThe third edition of QCP\, under the slogan “No Pride in Genocide”brings together grassroots\, solidarity and arts organisations from across the globe to host screenings of a stellar\, collectively curated short film programme. \nThis year’s programme focuses on the work of queer Palestinian and allied artists across locales\, in historic Palestine and the diaspora\, on various identities\, lengths\, styles and genres (doc-hybrid\, experimental\, fiction and animation) to highlight art’s position in resistance and the liberation struggle. \nThe full programme is available at: https://queercinemaforpalestine.org/2025/04/18/film-program-queer-cinema-for-palestine-2025/ \nQueer Cinema for Palestine began as an alternative ethical space for filmmakers who pulled out or refused to show their work at the Israeli government-sponsored TLVFest LGBTQ Film Festival. Over the past six years\, hundreds of filmmakers have shown their solidarity in response to the boycott call from queer and trans Palestinians. \nIsrael continues to attempt to instrumentalise LGBTIQ+ identities to justify its genocide against Palestinians\, including by murdering\, blackmailing and imprisoning queer and trans Palestinians. The Israeli government actively promotes a pinkwashing agenda designed to portray itself in a positive light because it offers some rights to some members of the LGBTQIA+ community\, while distracting attention from the daily reality of its military occupation\, apartheid\, settler colonialism and violent racism against Palestinians.

SUMMARY:Algorithms of Discrimination: How Technology Is Silencing Us
DESCRIPTION:The event will be held in Slovenian and English.Accessibility for people with mobility impairments: Yes \nThe digital age offers numerous opportunities for social progress\, but at the same time it also reproduces — and sometimes even deepens — existing biases\, including homophobia and transphobia. Artificial intelligence systems\, often perceived as neutral\, reflect discriminatory patterns present in the data they are trained on. \nDuring the workshop\, we will examine how algorithms\, social media moderation tools\, and digital platforms affect the visibility\, safety\, and representation of LGBTIQ+ people. Through concrete examples\, we will address ethical challenges in technology development and explore ways to create a more inclusive digital environment. The workshop will also highlight the role of activism at the intersection of technology and LGBTIQ+ human rights.
