Through her latest partnership with Bonke Sonjani and Ljubljana Pride\, she aims to inspire a new generation of creators to use their talents as a tool for international connection and social change. \nExhibition: \n Jozi 🖤Impressions from a trip to South Africa\, 2025 Do you know the feeling of carrying a country within you for a long time? And then one day\, you finally step into it. Things begin to unfold – about yourself\, about others\, and about life in general. Recently\, I heard that travel is a cultivation of the spirit. Maybe it truly is. For me\, it’s the people who have stayed closest to my heart. Let me share a part of my South African story – portraits and spaces from a spontaneous solo journey through Johannesburg and Cape Town\, and a little beyond. \nKatja Goljat (1982) is a self-employed cultural worker\, a photographer based in Ljubljana\, working in the field of contemporary auteur and documentary photography. her and reveal a glimpse of her own intimate world\, or take her toworlds beyond\, where there are stories of people whose lifestyles are the result of socialtransformations and tend to break away from the grip of cultural forms She treats the camera as a magical machine that translates her insights and feelings into images.prevaja v podobe. \n \n \n \n \n \n Accessibility\n Location and entrance:\n\nThe entrance is located on the side of the building number 3 on Vilharjeva street. SUMMARY:Cooking up Democracy
DESCRIPTION:A film by Monika Treut\, in coproduction with Ljubljana Pride Association\, Kinodvor and Ecrans Mixtes Film Festival from Lyon. \nThe documentary “Cooking Up Democracy” (Germany\, 2026\, 87 min) by acclaimed director Monika Treut takes us into the heart of Taiwanese society\, where democracy is not taken for granted but practiced every day. \nAt a time when many democracies are struggling with ongoing crises\, Taiwan stands out as a place of resilience and innovation. Together with former Digital Minister Audrey Tang\, the film explores a vibrant activist scene shaped by queer and feminist perspectives and new forms of civic participation. \nFrom traditional teahouses to digital platforms\, the film reveals how freedom can spark creativity and connect people — across generations\, communities\, and ideas. “Cooking Up Democracy” is both a portrait of a society and an inspiring reflection on what it means to live democracy today. \nThe screening will be followed by a discussion with director Monika Treut and the Director of the queer film festival Écrans Mixtes from Lyon. \nTickets: 4€ \n \n \n \n \n \n Accessibility\n Location and entrance\n\nThe event will be held in one of the cinema Kinodvor rooms. SUMMARY:Proof of love/Des preuves d'amour
DESCRIPTION:Zagovornik načela enakosti invites you to a screening of Proofs of Love (Des preuves d’amour\, France\, 2025\, 97 min)\, directed by Alice Douard. \nThe film explores questions of love\, family and the social recognition of relationships\, followed by a discussion after the screening. \nThe event is situated within a broader reflection on medically assisted reproduction (MAR) for same-sex couples in Slovenia. Before the screening\, Zagovornik načela enakosti will also organise a roundtable discussion on access to MAR and the rights of LGBTIQ+ people in the process of building a family. \nThe film follows Céline\, who is expecting her first child\, although she is not the one carrying the baby. In three months\, her wife Nadia will give birth to their daughter. In her feature debut\, writer and director Alice Douard explores the experiences of queer people in the aftermath of the legalisation of same-sex marriage in France through an intimate and personal story. \nSet in 2014\, the film follows newly married Parisian couple Céline and Nadia Steyer as they navigate the complicated process of in vitro fertilisation\, which at the time was still not legally accessible to lesbian couples in France\, alongside the bureaucratic procedures of second-parent adoption. Through a deeply personal narrative\, the film opens questions of parenthood\, social recognition\, legislation and the everyday experiences of LGBTIQ+ people. \n🎬 Film trailer:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Accessibility\n Coming Soon

SUMMARY:Connecting Queer and Climate Justice
DESCRIPTION:How do we build a future where no one is left behind?\nClimate change doesn’t “only” melt ice caps\, it deepens pre-existing inequalities across societies. This means that structurally excluded groups are often the first to suffer and the last ones to receive support. As we are examining these struggles against the backdrop of shrinking civic space and rising authoritarianism it becomes clear that neither apocalyptic climate change\, nor suffering in isolation are inevitable. The time to forge an unbreakable alliance between those working towards sustainable\, just and diverse societies is now. \nThis panel brings together visionary artists\, activists\, and young scientists to share their work and vision for this world – ranging from community-based initiatives via creative disobedience\, public protest and dialogue\, to regional and international forums championing conservation\, gender and climate justice. \nPanelists: \nMaryV Kyoseva\, Rainbow Eco Activists (REA)\, Bulgaria: MaryV Kyoseva is an ecologist and the founder of Rainbow Eco Activists (REA)\, a Sofia-based grassroots initiative that uses science communication to dismantle cis-heteronormative biases and demonstrate that queerness is a natural part of the ecosystem. Through bilingual narratives\, she bridges the gap between complex ecological concepts and public understanding to foster representation and environmental justice. \nAntonina van Lier is an artist\, cultural practitioner\, and co-director of Artcom Platform\, a women-led grassroots collective of artists\, researchers\, and curators based in Kazakhstan. Working at the intersection of contemporary art\, ecology\, and community engagement\, Artcom develops feminist and decolonial practices rooted in the steppe and lake ecologies\, as well as the nomadic knowledge systems of Central Asia. The collective understands artists as agents of transformation and art as a powerful means of responding to the climate crisis\, generating public knowledge\, and fostering solidarity\, ecological justice\, and care for memory and future generations. \nAntonina is also co-initiator of Care for Balkhash\, an interdisciplinary initiative dedicated to developing community-based infrastructures of care for Lake Balkhash and its ecosystems through artistic research\, public programmes\, fieldwork\, and collaborations with local communities\, scientists\, and cultural practitioners for sustainable and just futures. \nFrida Paes Leao\, Fossil Free Culture NL (FFFCNL)\, Netherlands/Portugal: Frida Paes Leao is a multidisciplinary artist and co-founder of Fossil Fuel Free Culture NL\, a collective that employs creative disobedience and unsolicited art performances to challenge the fossil fuel industry’s social legitimacy. Her work spans film\, photography\, and performance to advocate for a future that is sustainable\, feminist\, anti-racist\, queer\, and decolonial. \nKiara Titze\, Spain/Ecuador/Austria\, Austrian Commission for UNESCO Kiara Titze is the Youth Representative for Social and Environmental Transformation at the Austrian Commission for UNESCO. With an academic background in Environmental Science\, she works at the intersection of environmental policy\, climate action\, and LGBTQIA+ rights. Her work focuses on community organizing\, youth leadership\, and advocacy in international spaces\, including the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Born in Ecuador and raised across Europe\, Kiara brings a global and intersectional perspective to her commitment to gender and environmental justice. \nModerator:\n Julia Scharinger works on the intersections of Gender\, Conflict and Climate Change together with Ljubljana Pride and as co-founder of trans:verse\, a queer-feminist consultancy dedicated to gender and conflict transformation. \n \n \n \n \n \n Accessibility\n Location and entrance\n\nThe entrance is located from a small tunnel accessible from Mestni tr\, building number 2.\nOpen the exact location of the entrance – link.\nUpon entering Pritličje\, go into the further room with the bar\, and then turn left.
